Beverly Ann Winfrey

January 28, 1956 - January 17, 2017

The race is not given to the swift nor to the strong but to {she} who endures until the end.

Ecc. 9:11

This is my mother

Beverly Ann Winfrey

also known as Mom B.

She is the "B" in Angel B Winfrey

She gave me so many reason to start

She Did Dat

an organization

highlighting women

who have overcome obstacles.

My mother

endured so many

trials and tribulations

starting with childhood abuse

by the hands of her own father.

This led to abandonment issues, trust issues, suicide attempts, mental illness

anger, unforgiveness. The list goes on

but I want to focus more on how

she overcame these issues.

She found God

She found Christ

then came Joy, then came Life.

Never had I seen a woman so free.

She found Faith, She found Peace.

Living in a two bedroom

apartment in public housing

I watched my mother house family and friends that were homeless, feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and counsel men and women. She even gave cooking lessons to women.

And she did it all on public assistance, never wanting anything in return.

I was witnessing the works of God.

Won't He Do It!

She was such a remarkable woman

in every sense of the word.

I'm not just saying that

because she's my mother

I'm saying that because truly

there was no other compared to her.

A resilient Warrior

I call her Conqueror

I call her Queen

 I call her Remarkable

I call her many things but most importantly my Mother

The strongest woman I know

She endured so many obstacles

on this earth it's because of her

I know how God works.

Beverly Ann Winfrey- YOU DID DAT!

Rest in Peace My Love
